Cookie Policy

Cookies and similar technologies are small files or values a website can store on your device. We’ve kept ours to the bare minimum — no analytics, no advertising, no tracking — and this page explains exactly what that means.

01Our approach

We built this site to respect your privacy by default. Tanners Lane does not use any analytics, advertising or social-media tracking cookies, and we don’t build profiles of visitors. The site sets no cookies of its own for tracking.

The only third party that can set cookies is Google Maps — and only if you choose to load a map (see below). Everything else stays on your device or isn’t set at all.

02What we store

The only thing this website stores on your device is a single, first-party value used to remember a choice you make:

  • tl-maps-consent (functional, stored in your browser’s local storage) — remembers that you chose to load the Google map, so we don’t have to ask every time. It’s set only after you click “Load map”, contains no personal data, and is not used for tracking. Clearing your browser’s site data resets it.
  • Our fonts are self-hosted and served from our own domain, so no third-party font cookies are set.

03The Google map (consent-gated)

On our Corby and Kettering pages we offer an embedded Google map. Because an embedded map would normally let Google set its own cookies as soon as it loads, we’ve made it “click-to-load”: nothing is requested from Google until you press “Load map”.

If you do load it, Google may set cookies and process data under Google’s own Privacy Policy, which is outside our control. If you’d rather not, simply don’t load the map — you can use the address or the “Open in Google Maps” link instead.

04The registration system

When you select “Register” you leave our website for our registration provider, SalonTracker. That service sets its own cookies under its own policy once you arrive there.

05Managing cookies and storage

You can clear or block cookies and local storage through your browser settings at any time. Clearing this site’s data will reset your “Load map” choice. Most browsers explain how in their help pages — look for “cookies” or “site data” under privacy settings.

For more on how we handle personal information generally, see our Privacy Policy.

06Changes & contact

If our use of cookies changes we’ll update this page and its “last updated” date. Questions? Give the studios a call — Corby on 01536 906380 or Kettering on 01536 483992.
