Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Tanners Lane Ltdcollects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We’ve written it in plain language and kept it specific to how this website actually works.

01Who we are

Tanners Lane Ltd (“Tanners Lane”, “we”, “us”) operates premium sunbed tanning studios in Corby and Kettering and the website at tannerslane.co.uk. We are the “data controller” responsible for the personal information described here.

02The information we collect

This website has no accounts, contact forms, payments or analytics, so it gathers very little on its own. We mainly receive personal data when you choose to contact us, register, or visit a studio. The categories we may hold are:

  • Identity & contact — your name, phone number and email address when you enquire or register.
  • Registration & account details — created when you register and manage your account; these are held within our registration and client-management platform, SalonTracker (see “Other services we use”).
  • Service & safety information — details needed to provide tanning safely, such as a skin-type assessment and confirmation that you are 18 or over.
  • Correspondence — the content of messages, calls or emails between us.
  • Technical data — our hosting provider may log limited data such as your IP address and browser type to keep the site secure and reliable. We do not use tracking or analytics cookies (see our Cookie Policy).

03How we use it, and our lawful bases

Under UK data-protection law we must have a lawful basis for using your personal data. Ours are:

  • To respond to your enquiries and registrations — our legitimate interests in running the studios, and taking steps at your request before entering a contract.
  • To provide tanning services and manage your sessions — performance of our contract with you.
  • To keep records required for safe sunbed use, including age and skin-type checks — compliance with a legal obligation and our legitimate interest in health and safety.
  • To keep the website and our systems secure and prevent misuse — our legitimate interests.
  • To send marketing only if you have asked us to — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

04Sunbed use and age verification

By law (the Sunbeds (Regulation) Act 2010) we do not allow anyone under 18 to use our sunbeds, and we will ask for proof of age. To provide tanning responsibly we may also record a short skin-type assessment and session history. We keep this information as part of delivering the service safely and meeting our legal and insurance obligations.

05Who we share it with

We never sell your personal data. We share it only where necessary:

  • SalonTracker — our registration and client-management platform, which processes registration and account data on our behalf under its own terms and privacy policy.
  • IT, hosting and email providers — who help us run the website and communicate with you.
  • Professional advisers and authorities — such as accountants or regulators, where we are required to by law.

06Other services we use

Registration (SalonTracker). When you select “Register” you leave our website for SalonTracker, which handles registration and your client account under its own privacy policy.

Maps (Google).Our Corby and Kettering pages can show an embedded Google map, but it only loads if you choose to — nothing is sent to Google until you click “Load map”. See our Cookie Policy for detail.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses).

07How long we keep it

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it. Enquiry correspondence is kept for a reasonable period and then deleted. Client, account and safety records are kept for as long as required to provide the service and to meet our legal, tax and insurance obligations, after which they are securely deleted or anonymised.

08Your rights

You have the right to ask us to: give you a copy of your data; correct it; delete it; restrict or object to how we use it; and, where relevant, receive it in a portable format. 09How we keep it safe

The website is served over HTTPS with security headers in place, and we limit access to personal data to those who need it. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

10Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “last updated” date at the top of the page.
